Hello everybody, We are back for another exciting season with our weekly write-ups! As we take you out live to our news team crew for the Winter 2025 regular season! We will start this past week with our Monday night in Woburn league. In our first game of the week we had the Yellow team play the White team in a close and exciting game. We have a hat trick alert from Woburn’s very own John Maguire. In post game interviews, teammates say that he could easily take Mario Lemieux in a 1 vs. 1 battle when Lemieux was in his prime. Also with an honorable mention is Andrew Snow, as midway through the game teammates swore he morphed into Joe Thornton and scored two goals of his own. The final score of the game had the Yellow team on top 5-3. In our second game of the night, we had the Maroon team facing off against the Light Blue team. With the Maroon teams Craig Clark becoming Bobby Orr’s clone and scoring two goals for his team. The final score of the game had the Maroon team winning by a score of 4-2.

Next, we take you out to Boxboro for night two. In our first game of the night the Teal team takes on the Black team. As Michael Thomas gets a hat trick for the Teal team, along with Mark Chmiel also scoring two goals a piece for the Teal team. The 2 M’s line looked like the perfection line for the Boston Bruins when they had Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak, and Patrice Bergeron all on the same line together back in 2018. While the Black teams Matthew Remsburg took it upon himself to be the next Brian Rafalski and score 2 goals for the Black team. But, the Teal team takes the game by a score of 7-2. In our second game of the night we have the Vegas Gold team taking on the White team. The Vegas Gold team was led to a 6-3 victory with a three point game from their very own Josh Gold. His dominant play out there reminded us of Mark Messier and why his teammates now call him the Mark Messier of Boxboro.

Our next night consist of our Upper C League out of Newton. In our first game of the night we had the Maroon team vs. the Gray team. The final score of the game ended in a 2-2 tie, with both goalies putting on a clinic. For the Maroon team we had Roger Lehr in the net. Going against him down in the other crease we had Glen Petitpas playing for the Gray team. It was like watching Jordan Binnington and Tuukka Rask play each other for the Stanley Cup back in 2019. An absolute stunner performance from both goalies. In our next game we had the Vegas Gold team taking on the Black team. The Vegas Gold team’s Jon Sarno comes out of nowhere, nets two goals and shows his teammates how he could easily be the number 1 draft pick for the Buffalo Sabres in the upcoming 2025 NHL Draft. As the Vegas Gold team wins the game by a score of 5-3.

Next, we have a double header action night. First, we will take you out to our Newton Lower D League. As the Yellow team takes on the Gray team. In a back and forth match-up the Yellow team ultimately wins it with almost no time on the board as Ryan Kelley nets the game winner and shows us why he could easily beat Vezina Trophy and Hart Trophy nominee Connor Hellebuyck in a breakaway competition. With Ryan’s goal the Yellow team wins the game by a score of 3-2. Our second game of the night we have the White team vs. the Black team. With the one and only Michael Hagerstrom getting the goose egg for the White team. As he channels his inner Terry Sawchuk and gets a 4-0 shutout over the black team. Now, we take you out to our Nashua league. In our first game of the night we have the Forest Green team taking on the Black team. Forest Green’s Jarred Lien scores four goals and then Griffin Brown nets two of his own. Showing us why they could both easily be write-ins for the Maurice Rocket Richard Trophy given annually in the NHL to the player with the most goals at the end of the season. As they beat the Black team by a score of 9-1. In our second game of the night we have the Light Blue team taking on the White team. As the Light Blue team’s very own Jim Cashins goes out there and has a 5 point night and scores 3 goals with 2 assists. His teammates commented after the game in post game interviews saying how he has taken the Nashua league by storm and is now becoming the Wayne Gretzky of his generation. The Light Blue team beats the White team by a score of 11-3. In our last game of the night we have the Yellow team taking on the Gray team. As Ricky DeFelice posts a shutout and has earned himself a call up at the Minnesota Wild training camp for the start of next season as Marc-Andre Fleury will be retiring and Ricky is a shoe in to take his spot.

No games this week in Tyngsboro or Hooksett due to the Super Bowl. Congratulations to all the players and team’s! We will see you next week!
