As we wrap up our last week of the regular season, we look at all of our leagues to congratulate all the players and teams on the great seasons they have had. Let’s get started in Boxboro on Tuesday nights. Our first game of the night had the Red team vs. the Black team. Yowan Yoon gets two goals in the first and third period. Showing the Boxboro league that he could easily take retired NHL Hall of Famer goaltender Billy Smith in a shootout competition. Just when you think all is said and done, Josh Gold becomes none other than Taylor Hall’s twin brother putting the Red team on top by a score of 4-3. In our second game of the night we have the White team playing against the Vegas Gold team. As Tyler Burns has a 6 point game leading the White team to victory by a score of 7-6. In post game interviews, Tyler’s teammates said he does stuff like that all the time. They also said he has become the next Stan Mikita with his abilities to always find the open player and to always find the back of the net.
In our second league of the week we take you out to the Newton Upper C division. In our first game of the night we have the Green team taking on the Red team. The Red team’s Mike Antonitis becomes his generation’s Jonny Bucyk and has a three point game and scores 2 goals for the night leading the Red team past the Green team by a score of 5-3. In our second game of the night we have the Gray team taking on the Yellow team, as Bryan Licul nets two for the gray team and shows us how he could totally take Brett Hull in his prime, in a relay competition. Helping the Gray team lead to a 5-3 victory over the Yellow team.
In our next league of the week we take you out to Nashua and Newton. This past week in Nashua we had a practical 3 way tie for first place with 3 out of the 4 teams trailing each other for first place. In our first game of the night we had the Light Blue team against the Black team. As the Light Blue team is led to victory with 3 points or more from Tyler Burns, Jack Morgan, Leland Lowe, John Lovaasen, and Adam Morrone. It was like watching team Russia dominate the Hockey world back in the 1970’s as the Light Blue team comes out on top in a 12-3 win against the Black team. In our second game of the night we have the Green team against the White team. As Jim Cashins and Erick Anderson transform before the game into Mats and Henrik Sedin. Post game interviews with teammates reveal how they have become a force to be reckon with when the both of them are out there as they lead the Green team to a 6-5 win over the White team. Next we take you out to Newton where the games were so close and each team’s goaltender looked as if they had a brick wall in front of the net. A literal brick wall. As Ed Gresco and Michael Hagerstrom battle it out as much as Tuukka Rask and Corey Crawford battled it out in the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals. With the Black team winning by a score of 2-1. In our second game of the league we have the Light Blue team against the Red team. With again, both goalies playing phenomenally. As, Glen Petitpas and Alan Marscher battle it out as did Nikolai Khabibulin and Miikka Kiprusoff battled it out in the 2004 Stanley Cup finals. The final score of the game was 2-1 with the win going to the Light Blue team.
Next we take you out to Tyngsboro and Hooksett. First, we will start with Tyngsboro as the Light Blue team takes on the Red team. Owen Finnegan leads the team with a hat trick as he shows us how he is going to be the next draft pick for the Detroit Red Wings, as the Red Wings could really use his speed and playmaking ability. The Light Blue wins the game by a score of 6-5. In our next game of the night we have the Yellow team playing against the Green team. The Yellow team is led to victory by Christopher Streeter and Bob Walsh who both get two points for the night as both players show us how they could easily take Adam Fox in a 1 vs. 1 battle. As the Yellow team wins by a final of 4-1. In our second league of the night we take you out to Hooksett. In our first game of the night we have the Vegas Gold team take on the Red team, the Red team’s Michael Cappucci comes away with the hat trick and finds the back of the net with Vladimir Tarasenko skills and abilities and shows his teammates how he could easily take and defeat Tarasenko in an NHL Skills Competition. As the Red team comes away with the win and the final score being 8-3. In our second game of the Hooksett league we have the Black team taking on the Green team. As another goalie show down has begun with Dean Frechette and Abbey Durell. It was like watching Martin Brodeur and Dominik Hasek play in their primes. With both goalies making saves left and right with the Black team coming away with a win by a score of 2-1.
In our last league of the week we take you out to Woburn. Due to no scorekeeper being there this week we have no active stats. But, we will report the scores. In our first game we have the Black team playing the Vegas Gold team and the Black team winning by a score of 4-3. In our second game of the night we have the Red team playing against the Green team. The final score of the game had the Green team winning by a score of 3-1. In our next write up we will begin our journey into the Fall 24 Playoffs as each team will compete for the championship. Good luck to all of the teams and players in playoffs!
Congratulations to all the players and teams for a great regular season!
