And we’re back for another exciting weekly update for our Adult Leagues of The Hockey Academy. Our week began out of Boxboro in a tight game between Red and Black. Red’s very own Justin Lin and Josh Gold each have a three point game while both of them are being compared to the talent levels of Mats and Henrik Sedin the year they brought the Vancouver Canucks all the way to the Stanley Cup finals. The final score of the game had the Red team winning by a score of 5-3. In our second game of the night we have the White team and the Vegas Gold team going head to head. As Vegas Gold was down after the second period, Tyler Burns has a standout performance and transforms in to today’s Jarome Iginla and, get’s the hat trick with both teams ending in a deadlock at 4-4.
In our second night of the week we take you out to Newton for our Upper C league division. In our first game we have the Green team take on the Gray team. The Green team is led by two goals from Jeff Kenney and the hat trick from Jonathan Seibel. Showing us why they could easily beat Tuukka Rask in a shootout competition. The final score of the game had the Green team winning by a score of 5-2. The second game of the night has the Yellow team vs. the Red team with Tyler Joe having a six point game and becoming the Brian Leetch of his generation and leading the Yellow team past the Red team by a score of 7-3.
Next we take you out to our Thursday night leagues in Nashua and Newton. This week we will start with the games in Newton. In our first game we have the Green team playing the Light Blue team as Patrick Norman has a two point game and what would be the game winning goal as the Light Blue team wins by a score of 3-1. Then, in our second game of the night we have the Black team vs. the Red team, with the Black team winning by a score of 5-0. Michael Hagerstrom getting his fourth shutout of the season. Mike is starting to make a case as to why he should take over the net for Jeremy Swayman and become the Boston Bruins new starting goaltender. In our Nashua league we had the White team playing against the Light Blue team. With the White team’s Michael Witkowski going for the hat trick and in the process becoming Brent Burns in his earlier career and leading the White team to an 8-5 victory over the Light Blue team. In our second game of the night we have the Green team vs. the Black team. With the Green team being lead to victory with the hat trick from Nick Bernick. After recent interviews with his teammates they have all referred to him as Eric Lindros with his skills and grit. The final score of the game was 6-2 Green.
In our Sunday night league in Tyngsboro we have our first game ending in a great 4-4 tie with the Red team facing the Light Blue team. In our second game of the night we have the Yellow team’s Howard Bloom playing like Jonathan Quick when he lead the Kings to the Stanley Cup in 2014 beating the Green team by a score of 7-0. In our Hooksett league we have the Vegas Gold team taking on the Red team with Jack Ferguson scoring the game winning goal for the Vegas Gold team and Jack showing us why he is the Taylor Hall of the Hooksett league. With the Vegas Gold team winning by a score of 4-3. In our second game of the night we have the Black team playing against the Green team. Led with a shutout from Dean Frechette as he is making a case of why the NHL might make him a write in ballot this year to win the Vezina trophy.
Lastly, in our Monday night leagues in our first game, a real neck and neck game with the Black team playing the Vegas Gold team as the Black team’s very own Paul Lapointe and Jason Mainini also known in the Woburn league as Rob and Scott Niedermayer each pick up two points for the Black team. But wait, the Vegas Gold Team’s own John Maguire and Eric Lane both come out and are known to their teammates as Maurice “Rocket” Richard and Jean Beliveau and get three points each leading the Vegas Gold team past the Black team by a score of 5-4. In our second game of the night we have the Green team playing against the Red team. The Green team comes out strong with Keith Medeiros leading the charge and scoring the game winner with less than two minutes left as the Green team beats the Red team by a score of 3-2.
Congratulations to all the players and teams!
