We are back and ready for another week of hockey! Hockey! HOCKEY! As week 5 begins we start with our first game in the Boxboro Tuesday night league in a real nail biter. As the Black team takes on the White team. The Black team having multiple point scorers from Bob Noorigian, Michael Thomas, and Jake Secor. While, the White team has multiple point scorers from Mark Chmiel and Steve Fiorentino. With the Black team winning the game by a score of 6-5. With how many point scorers we had in this game it was like watching the Montreal Canadiens play the Toronto St. Patrick’s back in 1920 when the Canadiens took the game 14-7. I am sure you all of you remember that game. In our second game of the night the Vegas Gold team was able to defeat the Red team by a score of 3-2. With the Vegas Gold team being led to victory by Matan Shmerling as he shows his skills and why he could be the second coming of Shea Weber as he scores the game winning goal.

In our second night of the week we take you out to our Newton upper C league division. Our first game of the night is the Red team vs. the Green team. The Red and Green team’s go back and forth and by the end of the Second period the score is 3-2 with the Red team up by 1. Then, Daniel Elman also known as the next Joe Thornton comes out of nowhere and scores two goals to have the Green team win by a score of 5-3. In our second game of the night we have the Yellow team vs. the Gray team. The Yellow team has an incredible game with Eamonn McLean getting a hat trick, Tyler Joe having a three point game, Jeff Hall and Nicholas Hall also getting two goals each to lead the Yellow team to victory by a score of 9-5. It was like watching the 2002 Red Wings win the Stanley Cup with grit and determination.

In our third night of the week we take you out to our Lower D league division in Newton and our C/D league in Nashua. In Nashua this week the Light Blue team takes on the Black team. The Light Blue team starts off slow and gives up two quick goals in the first period to the Black team. But, then the Light Blue team’s very own Christopher Bischke comes out and shows why he is the Joe Sakic of the Nashua league scoring two quick goals to tie the game. Also having a 3 point game was Jack Morgan as he gets a goal and two assists in the game and shows us why he could beat Dominik Hasek in a shootout competition. The Light Blue team comes away with the win and the final score of the game was 5-2. In our second game of the night we have the White team take on the Green team. The Green team had John Maguire come in and score two goals for them showing us why his teammates call him the Magic Man, also known as Pavel Datsyuk. On the other end, the White team had Mark Boulanger have an incredible three point night as he transformed into Jonathan Toews and had one goal and two assists as the White team beats the Green team 8-4.

In our second league of the night we have the Lower D league division in Newton. In our first game the Black team takes on the Green team. With the Green team having an all around great team effort to defeat the Black team by a score of 3-2. The Green team collectively as a unit was able to keep the Black team off the board throughout the whole second period and ultimately win the game. In our second game of the night we had the Light Blue team take on the Red team with the Light Blue team’s goalie Alan Marscher getting the goose egg in a score of 3-0. with a performance like Carey Price’s when he led the Canadiens to the Stanley Cup finals back in 2021.

Then we have our Sunday night league’s out of Tynsgboro and Hooksett. This week out in Tyngsboro we had the Red team play the Green team with Steve McGovern and Brad Hurley both going head to head in a match up like no other. Both of them showing us why they are the Ron Francis’s of their teams. The final score of the game ends in a 5-5 tie. In our second game of the night we have the Yellow team vs. the Light Blue team with Sean Penney having a four point game and Jeff Geary having a seven point game for the Yellow team. Sean and Jeff are starting to be their generations own Mark Recchi and Teemu Selanne and why they could take them in a 2 vs. 2. With the final score of that game being 9-5 with the Yellow team winning. In our Hooksett league with the first game of the night going to Tyler Windt and the Black team, beating the Vegas Gold team by a score of 6-2. Among the league Tyler is starting to be talked about as the next Mike Modano as he has a four goal game for the Black team. In our second game of the night we have the Green team vs. the Red team. The Green team had an all around great team effort being led by Chad Livingston and beating the Red team by a score of 4-2.

In our league of the week which is Monday nights in Woburn we had two very close games. The first game was Green vs. Vegas Gold with Keith Medeiros and Tom Spellman both having a two point game, leading the Green team to a 4-1 victory over the Vegas Gold team. Watching Tom and Keith play is like watching Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin play for the Pittsburgh Penguins. In our second game of the night it was the Red team vs. the Black team. With Red’s Eric Davidson and Craig Clark looking like Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstop out there on the Washington Capitals and each getting two points for the Red team with the Red team winning by a score of 4-1.

Congratulations to all the players and teams!
